The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman David Warsofsky from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Defenseman Frank Corrado has been re-assigned to WBS.
Warsofsky, 26, is the fifth-highest scoring blueliner in the AHL this year, having tallied 44 points (15G-29A) in 50 games. An AHL All-Star this year, his 15 goals rank second among league defensemen. Warsofsky also leads the entire AHL with a plus-31.
The 5-foot-9, 170-pound native of Marshfield, Massachusetts has established AHL career highs across the board offensively. Warsofsky also skated in six NHL games with Pittsburgh earlier in the season.
Over the past two seasons, Warsofsky has dressed for 18 NHL games with Pittsburgh, scoring one goal, a power-play marker. In 38 career NHL games with Pittsburgh, New Jersey and Boston, he has five points (2G-3A).
