SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Nathan Bastian on a one-year, two-way contract for the 2026-27 season.
Bastian, 28, appeared in 36 games with the Dallas Stars in 2025-26, registering seven points (6-1-7). He also skated in four American Hockey League (AHL) games with Dallas’ affiliate, the Texas Stars, compiling three points (2-1-3).
The 6-foot-4, 217-pound native of Kitchener, Ontario has skated in 312 career NHL games between New Jersey (2018-19 to 2020-21, 2021-22 to 2024-25), Seattle (2021-22) and Dallas (2025-26), producing 75 points (39-36-75). He also played in 17 Stanley Cup Playoff games with New Jersey, logging two points (1-1-2).
Outside of the NHL, Bastian notched 83 points (46-37-83) over 192 career AHL games with the Binghamton Devils (2017-18 to 2019-20) and Texas Stars (2025-26). Prior to his professional career, he played in 211 Ontario Hockey League (OHL) games over four seasons (2013-14 to 2016-17) with the Mississauga Steelheads, posting 136 points (54-82-136).
Bastian was originally selected in the second round (41st overall) by New Jersey in the 2016 NHL Draft.
