SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Anthony Duclairon a one-year contract.
"Anthony is a dynamic and highly skilled player who is capable of being a dependable offensive contributor for our team" said Zito. "He possesses tremendous speed and goal scoring ability and earned an opportunity to be named an NHL All-Star last season. We're excited to welcome Anthony and look forward to what he can add to our team."
Duclair, 25, appeared in 66 games with the Ottawa Senators in 2019-20, producing 40 points (23-17-40). The 5-foot-11, 198-pound native of Pointe-Claire, Quebec, posted career-highs in goals (23), shorthanded goals (2) and shots on goal (184) and played in the 2020 National Hockey League All-Star Game. Duclair ranked second on the Senators in goals (23), third in even-strength goals (16) and tied for first in power-play goals (5).
He has played in 353 career NHL regular season games for Ottawa (2018-19 to 2019-20), the Columbus Blue Jackets (2018-19), Chicago Blackhawks (2017-18), Arizona Coyotes (2015-16 to 2017-18) and New York Rangers (2014-15), amassing 162 points (79-83-162).
Prior to his professional career, Duclair played in 203 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) regular season games with the Quebec Remparts, registering 249 points (116-133-249) and posted 42 points (14-28-42) over 44 postseason contests. He was named a QMJHL First Team All-Star in 2013-14 and named to the 2011-12 QMJHL All-Rookie Team.
On the international stage, Duclair won a Gold Medal with Canada at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship, posting eight points (4-4-8) in seven games. He also won a Gold Medal with Canada at the 2012 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
He was originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third round (80th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
