EDMONTON, AB - The Edmonton Oilers held an optional practice on Monday, a day after dropping a 5-1 decision to the Los Angeles Kings. The club will continue its six-game homestand on Tuesday versus the Minnesota Wild.
During his post-practice media availability, Head Coach Dave Tippett provided status updates on Cody Ceci, Duncan Keith and netminder Mike Smith.
"Ceci is close to starting to skate again. He's got some tests he's got to do on Wednesday and might be able to skate on Wednesday," the coach said. "Keith didn't skate today and Smith didn't skate today but they're scheduled to keep going this week. Schmiddy would have maybe taken part in the practice today but Keith wouldn't have practiced today."
