Lightning team scope

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be playing their second game in as many nights when they face the Detroit Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena on Tuesday. Tampa Bay beat the New York Islanders 4-0 at Barclays Center on Monday. Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 34 saves in the shutout. "I want to say thank you to our guys and thank you for the shutout," he said. The Lightning defeated the Red Wings 6-4 on Oct. 13 in the season opener for each team. Cedric Paquette, Alex Killorn and now-injured Jonathan Drouin (upper body) each had a goal and an assist. Goaltender Ben Bishop will start. He is coming off two straight losses and is 2-2-0 in his past four starts despite giving up seven goals in that span.

Red Wings team scope

Petr Mrazek will be in goal against the Lightning after Jimmy Howard started the past four games. Mrazek played the third period of Detroit's 5-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, stopping all 12 shots he faced. "It was good to be able to get back on the ice for a period after not having played for a while," he said Tuesday. Mrazek is 0-2-1 in his past four appearances; he hasn't won since starting in a 2-1 victory at the St. Louis Blues on Oct. 27. In a planned move, defenseman Niklas Kronwall will not play to rest his chronic knee problems. He'll be replaced by rookie Ryan Sproul, who has been a healthy scratch for the last seven games. "My main concern is rust, because I've never been in a situation where I've only been watching games," Sproul said. "It's a tough adjustment."
