Friedman was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League but the defenseman is not expected to play. … Penguins coach Mike Sullivan said Poehling would not play although the forward participated in Pittsburgh's morning skate. Poehling missed the Penguins' last game because of an upper-body injury. … Following New York's optional morning skate, coach Lane Lambert said Nelson and Cizikas each would be a game-time decision. Cizikas sustained an upper-body injury during the second period of a 5-3 loss at the New York Rangers on Thursday, and Nelson left a 5-1 win against the Panthers on Friday after being clipped in the back of the head with a clearing pass in the second period. … Lambert said forwards Clutterbuck and Palmieri are skating, but Pelech, a defenseman; Holmstrom, a forward; and Varlamov, a goalie, are not.
