Simmonds, who leads the Flyers with five goals, will play right wing with center Sean Couturier and left wing Claude Giroux. Jakub Voracek, who was on the top line, take Simmonds' spot on the third line.

Devils forward Travis Zajac and defenseman Ben Lovejoy won't play after each sustained a lower-body injury during a 5-3 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

Players to watch

Devils forward Kyle Palmieri has seven goals and one assist during a five-game point streak. He can become the fourth Devils player with at least one point in the first six games of a season. He would join Tim Higgins (10 games, 1984-85), Claude Lemieux (six games, 1992-93) and David Clarkson (six games, 2012-13).

Giroux has eight points (three goals, five assists) in Philadelphia's past five games.

New Jersey goalie Cory Schneider was activated from the injured/non-roster list Friday and sent to Binghamton of the American Hockey League on a conditioning stint. … The Devils sent forward John Quenneville to Binghamton on Friday and recalled Rooney, who will meet the Devils in Philadelphia.
