TAMPA - The Canadiens provided a medical update on five injured players on Wednesday.
Brendan Gallagher is progressing and wore a regular jersey at practice. Mike Matheson sustained a lower-body injury on December 17 -- different from his previous injury -- and will be re-evaluated when the team returns to Montreal. David Savard (upper-body injury) is progressing and has been skating in Brossard. Sean Monahan (lower-body injury) is progressing and skated for the first time in Brossard today. Paul Byron (hip injury) is slowly progressing. He has not yet skated, but there have been some improvements in the last two weeks and he will continue to be evaluated in the coming weeks.
