Tanner Pearson scored for the Kings (30-27-6), who have lost back-to-back games in overtime after a 5-4 loss at the Minnesota Wild on Monday. Los Angeles is one point back of the St. Louis Blues for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.
"Both nights losing in overtime is tough," Bishop said. "Anytime you can get two points in two road games … that's usually the way it works. You want as many points as road games."
Pearson gave the Kings a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 8:42 when he pushed his third attempt past Elliott's pad. Video review confirmed the puck completely crossed the goal line. The Flames unsuccessfully challenged the goal for goaltender interference.
"I don't think the ref saw it go in in the first place, and then it was a good goal," said Pearson, who has 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in his past nine games. "I think he even told our coach he had no pushing on the goalie, so the second replay didn't really cross my mind."
Ferland made it 1-1 at 9:44 of the second period with his fourth goal in the past five games.
The Kings acquired Bishop and a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Sunday for goaltender Peter Budaj, defenseman Erik Cernak, a seventh-round pick and a conditional pick in this year's draft.
"First, you have to learn everyone's name," Bishop said. "That helps. That and just learn the terminology and talking with each other. It'll take a little bit of time. It's a good group in there. [They're) veterans and they like to talk a lot, which helps me. I'm just looking forward to it."
