Red Wings defenseman Mike Green has nine points (goal, eight assists) in six games. He is tied for second in scoring among defensemen with Will Butcher (0-9-9) of the New Jersey Devils, one point behind Shayne Gostisbehere of the Philadelphia Flyers (1-9-10).
Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews had one shot in 17:37 against the Capitals and was held without a point, ending his five-game point streak. His eight points (five goals, three assists) lead Toronto.
