Ducks team scope

The Anaheim Ducks are making their final regular-season visit to Joe Louis Arena to play the Detroit Red Wings. The Ducks have gone 4-1-0 in their past five games and 7-2-1 in their past 10. "When a team gets on a streak like this, you can generally point to three things," coach Randy Carlyle said. "There's almost always great goaltending, there is probably great defense and you are usually going to see good special teams. That's how a stretch like this gets started." Two Ducks players, defenseman Cam Fowler and center Ryan Kesler, grew up in the Detroit area as Red Wings fans. "This is a great building with a lot of memories for me," Fowler said. "I came here to watch the Red Wings as a kid, and then I made my NHL debut here, so I want to cherish tonight's game. I'm going to have a lot of friends and family here with me."

Red Wings team scope

The Red Wings have been outscored 13-3 in the losing streak, and are 2-9-3 in their past 14 home games. "Obviously, everyone is pressing right now to get us a win, and when you do that, the little things get neglected," forward Thomas Vanek said. "We've got to get back to playing good, simple hockey." Goalie Petr Mrazek will start after Jimmy Howard started the past three games.
