Two thirds of the Jets top line was not on the ice in the home opener against the Anaheim Ducks on Thursday night. Kyle Connor did a tremendous job without his line mates Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler scoring twice and adding an assist in Winnipeg's 5-1 win over Anaheim. Connor is now up to five goals in the first four games and has been the Jets most dynamic player so far. Connor skated with Pierre-Luc Dubois and Evgeny Svechnikov and will do so again tonight against the Predators.
I don't think my game tends to change too much. You bring what you bring to the table," said Connor on Thursday night.
"There's no reason why we shouldn't have success (playing with different players). The chemistry comes a little bit over time."

HELLEBUYCK ON TRACK
It was nice to see the Jets win and there is no one surprised in the building that is was Connor Hellebuyck leading the way with 38 saves. The Jets goaltender was his spectacular self especially in the second period when Anaheim fired 17 shots his direction and he turned them all aside. As we've seen over the years with Hellebuyck, one of these performances usually leads to a run of them. Hellebuyck is now 27-10-8 when facing 38 shots or more in his career.
"It's great. It gets us going in the right direction," said Hellebuyck of the win on Thursday.
"It shows us what we have to do to win games in this league."

DIFFERENT DUBOIS
Pierre-Luc Dubois worked hard this summer on his conditioning, and it has showed through the first four games of the 2021-22 season. The 22-year-old already has three goals this campaign after taking eight games to score that many after being traded from Columbus last season. Dubois looks faster this year and he showed that he embraced the moment that he was given the opportunity to centre the team's top line with Connor and Svechnikov.
GOALS FROM SAME PEOPLE
Winnipeg has ten goals in its last two games and 14 overall. Those 14 goals have come off the stick of only five players, Connor (5), Andrew Copp (3), Dubois (3), Josh Morrissey (2) and Jansen Harkins (1). Winnipeg is joined by Vegas Golden Knights and Los Angeles Kings as the only teams with less than six players with at least one goal.
ANOTHER CENTRAL OPPONENT
Jets fans that come into Canada Life Centre this evening should be thrilled that the team will be facing another Central Division rival in the Predators. Especially if the game tonight looks anything like the Jets-Wild contest on Tuesday night in St. Paul. Lots of hits, goals, saves and a ton of emotion was on display at Xcel Energy Centre. Nashville has begun the season with a win.
