WINNIPEG - While the 6-5 setback at the hands of the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night was not the result the players wanted, members of the national media sure enjoyed the display of skill and intensity at Bell MTS Place.

The Jets and Predators can't play in the Stanley Cup Final because of their placement in the same division and conference, but there is a chance they could play one another in the earlier rounds of the post-season - depending on how the remaining 19 games of the Jets regular season plays out.
"Obviously Nashville is a very good team. It seemed like we would get some offence going, get a goal, and they would come right back," said Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey after practice Wednesday afternoon. "I'm sure both teams looking at the video have a lot of things they would like to clean up. There are a lot of positives we can build on."

Andrew Copp didn't like the game as much as those who watched it on TV, adding to what Morrissey said, as there were a lot of things the Jets need to clean up from their game.
"We weren't at our best," said Copp, who chipped in an assist on Tuesday night. "We were too loose in a lot of areas.
"We look forward to playing those guys again next time."

Clearly, Paul Stastny is one of the positives coming from the loss to the Predators. The centreman made his debut in one of the biggest games of the year for the Jets, having only skated with his new teammates just hours earlier at the morning skate.
Stastny won 74 per cent of his faceoffs and recorded his first goal and assist as a Jet.
"He's a veteran guy and a cerebral player," said Morrissey. "I mean you just watch him in practice. You watch the little details he does during the game last night. You watch his faceoffs, the little plays he makes in the d-zone that maybe don't get noticed."

ICE CHIPS
Brandon Tanev was activated off injured reserve on Tuesday but did not play in the game against Nashville. He was out practicing again in a full-contact jersey, and says he is ready to return to the line-up whenever the opportunity should arise.
"The more practices the better," said Tanev after he was asked if it's been too many practices lately instead of games. "I've been off for awhile here and it's good to get the legs going again."
Tanev - who has played 46 games this season - still leads the Jets in hits with 142 and is a big part of the team's penalty kill unit.
"He's quick. That's probably his best asset is his speed," said Copp. "He gets in on the forecheck and is kind of fearless down there in terms of winning puck battles and getting on the body."
There is no word yet on when Tanev will play his first game since the injury, sustained back on Feb. 1 against the Vegas Golden Knights. The Jets will practice again on Thursday before hosting the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
Connor Hellebuyck, Toby Enstrom and Bryan Little did not practice today. Hellebuyck skated before the team did, Little was not feeling well, and Enstrom remains day-to-day with a lower body injury.
