1st Period:
6:48 - NYI 1, NSH 0 - Austin Czarnik finishes off a two-on-one rush with Oliver Wahlstrom and beats David Rittich short side for his first goal of the season. The goal is also his first as an Islander and first since Oct. 24, 2019 with Calgary.
17:28 - NYI 1, NSH 1 - Ryan Johansen evens the score depositing a Luke Kunin feed. The play began with a turnover at the Islanders blue line, creating an odd-man rush for Johansen and Kunin.
18:53 - NSH 2, NYI 1 - Colton Sissons puts Nashville ahead 1:25 later, knocking in a Tanner Jeannot rebound.
2nd Period:
1:56 - NYI 2, NSH 2 PPG - Anders Lee sweeps in Mathew Barzal's centering feed for his third goal in the past two games. Oliver Wahlstrom picks up the secondary assist.
3rd Period:
5:08 - NYI 3, NSH 2 - Noah Dobson scores his second goal of the season, beating Rittich blocker side with a wrist shot through traffic. Andy Greene and fellow Prince Edward Islander Ross Johnston pick up the assists.
12:31 - NYI 3, NSH 3 - Tanner Jeannot drives the net on a forecheck and throws the puck back out front to Yakov Trenin, who pots it behind Semyon Varlamov.
19:48 - NSH 4, NYI 3 - Roman Josi intercepts an Islanders clearing attempt and throws a puck on net that deflects off Tolvanen and in for the game-winner.
NOTEBOOK:
Czarnik's goal was his first as an Islander and first since Oct. 24, 2019 with Calgary... Lee has three goals in his last two games... Barzal extended his point streak to five games with an assist on Lee's power-play goal. Barzal has seven points (1G, 6A) over that span... Ross Johnston had a team-high eight hits... The Islanders were credited with 17 giveaways on Thursday... Oliver Wahlstrom has six points (3G, 3A) in his last four games... Noah Dobson had a team-high four shots on goal... Zdeno Chara and Yakov Trenin dropped the gloves in the first period. Chara's fight was his second this season, bringing the Islanders season total up to nine.
GOALTENDING BATTLE:
Semyon Varlamov made 25 saves on 29 shots and dropped to 0-5-1 this season.
Dave Rittich stopped 18 of 21 in the win.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
