The New York Islanders wrapped up a back-to-back set in style, scoring a 5-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night at UBS Arena.
Brock Nelson, Josh Bailey (2G), Anders Lee and Cal Clutterbuck (ENG) scored for the Islanders, who followed up a 6-0 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday with an inspired effort against the Jets. In the process, the Islanders won consecutive games for the first time since a three-game winning streak from Jan. 17-21.
Semyon Varlamov stopped 27 shots for his first win since Jan. 18, snapping a six-game skid in the process. The win also meant the Islanders swept their regular season series with the Jets.
