Hall brings Stanley Cup to Muskoka cottage

Taylor Hall showed the Stanley Cup a good time at the cottage. 

The Carolina Hurricanes forward spent the day with the trophy in Muskoka, Ontario on Thursday. 

To kick off the day, Hall brought the Cup to a local rink at Muskoka Lumber Community Centre for a public event. Fans waited in the rain to see the duo. 

Hall, who sported his No. 71 black Hurricanes jersey, posed for photos and signed autographs for fans. 

After, Hall took Lord Stanley for a cruise around Lake Muskoka on Wenonah II. The Hurricanes also took to social media to congratulate Hall on gaining that long lost boating license. 

Before boarding the boat, the Hurricanes forward met kids from a local camp and took a picture with them.

The boat stopped at Hall’s cottage during the ride. He shared a picture of himself steering the ship as the Cup acted as his first mate.

The day ended with a party at the cottage with Hall’s family and friends including Minnesota Wild forward Nick Foligno, his former teammate with the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks.  

Hall, who grew up in Calgary before moving to Kingston, Ontario as a teen, trains in Muskoka during the summer. The lake community is two hours north of Toronto.  

The veteran forward scored the game-winning goal to clinch his first championship during Game 6 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Final. 

Hall was traded to the Hurricanes in January 2025 from the Blackhawks in a three-team trade that included the Colorado Avalanche. In his 16 NHL seasons, Hall has played for seven teams including six seasons with the Edmonton Oilers who drafted him with No. 1 pick in the 2010 NHL Draft.
