Last Time Out...

  • The Canes were "sloppy" on Sunday and came out on the wrong side of a 3-2 game against the Flames.
  • Without Taylor Hall, Mark Jankowski, Seth Jarvis, and Jordan Staal, the team had players playing out of position and several newly formed lines, and goals from Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jalen Chatfield were not enough to overcome their defensive woes.
  • Although he recorded the team's first 30+ save performance of the season, Brandon Bussi suffered the loss in net.

Previous Meetings vs. VAN This Season...

  • Oct. 8: Logan Stankoven recorded a natural hat trick as the Canes cruised past the Canucks 7-2 at Lenovo Center.

Let's Start Another...

  • The Canes' seven-game win streak came to a close on Sunday.
  • Falling for the first time since Oct. 2, it was also the team's first road loss of the season after winning its first five games away from Raleigh to start the campaign.

Okay, KK...

  • Forward Jesperi Kotkaniemi has scored in back-to-back contests. It is his first time doing so since a three-game scoring streak from Jan. 20-23, 2025.
  • With centers Mark Jankowski and Jordan Staal on the shelf, the sixth-year Hurricane has received an elevated role, working on both the power play and penalty kill at five-on-five.

In Net...

  • It feels likely that the group will turn to the undefeated Pyotr Kochetkov this evening, after Brandon Bussi played in the team's most recent game and the team was off the ice on Monday.
  • Just the second goalie in team history to start a season with five straight wins, Kochetkov has also allowed two goals or fewer in all five.

On The Other Side...

  • Vancouver returns home following a six-game trip east that started in Raleigh.
  • Going 0-5-1, keeping the puck out of the net has been a challenge for the rebuilding squad. Only the Calgary Flames (4.63) give up more goals per game than the Canucks' average of 4.5. Part of that problem is that they allow an average of 32.7 shots per night, also second-most among all teams.
  • When it comes to their highlights, Elias Pettersson continues to drive the bus offensively, producing 10 points in 10 games.

Injury Updates

  • Forward Seth Jarvis is practicing following offseason shoulder surgery. He graduated from a yellow, no-contact sweater on Thursday, Oct. 8. He was initially scheduled to miss "probably four to six months" from the end of June. Last year's leading goal-scorer (32) is with the team on this road trip.
  • Forward Jordan Staal is expected to miss "anywhere from a month or two" after suffering a tear in his calf on Sunday, Oct. 11. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 15.
  • Forward Taylor Hall is out "week-to-week" with an upper-body injury suffered on Oct. 13 vs. Washington, and was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 19.
  • Forward Mark Jankowski was sent back to Raleigh to have his lower-body injury checked out further on Oct. 18.

What Are We Wearing?

  • The Canes are scheduled to wear white uniforms.
