NFTS

The Calgary Flames announce today its first-ever Non-Fungible Token (NFT) collections celebrating four decades of the franchise's memorable moments, cherished mascots and magnificent milestones along the way. The overall project involves minting 26 different NFTs at a total of 4,675 available editions.

"We are very excited to finally bring NFTs to our fans," said Ryan Popowich, Director Marketing & Promotions, Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation. "This is obviously a new space for everyone involved and we're proceeding under specific guidelines outlined by the NHL. But as an organization we're committed to exploring the potential of NFTs. What we're dropping now is just scratching the surface of what we'd like to do in the near future.
"It was also very important to have our first attempt at NFTs be accessible for our fans. Our partnership with Rare Goods has allowed us to create an easy-to-use marketplace where fans can explore and purchase NFTs with even with limited experience. Rare Goods really delivered with the platform and input on creating some of the NFTs and we can't wait to have yet another way to engage with the C of Red."
Created in partnership with NFT-marketplace Rare Goods, the Calgary Flames have curated three collections that celebrate the storiedy history of the Stanley Cup-winning franchise, showcase the unique in-game experience, and pay tribute to the team's legendary mascot, Harvey.
The Commemorative Coins Collection illustrates the team's history, recognizing historical milestones in the Flames' history.
Harvey the Hound became the NHL's first-ever mascot in 1983, and the Harvey's 8 Bit World Collection touts his longevity of entertaining Calgary's fans throughout four decades.
For any true Flames fan, the truly iconic moments and memories are only made at one place - Scotiabank Saddledome. Every game is full of icons, and the Game Time Collection honors everything that Flames fans know and love when their team hits the ice, including one of the most unique goal horns in the NHL.
"We are proud to be debuting this innovative program internationally with the Calgary Flames," said Taylor Gaussoin, Co-Founder, Rare Goods. "The Rare Goods platform has redefined the way fans can quickly and legally purchase NFTs directly from a team's official marketplace. The Calgary NFT store accepts credit or debit cards, allowing any fan to participate without worry about having an existing digital wallet or crypto payment method. Fans can also buy, sell, and trade their Calgary NFTs within the same marketplace, making it fast and fun to quickly grow their collections and exclusive content."
