ALUMNI TO HOST MASTERS TOURNAMENT

The Calgary Flames Alumni Association is excited to announce that 2018 marks the 24th year of the Calgary Flames Alumni Masters Tournament. The Masters Tournament, presented by Willow Park Wines and Spirits, is an annual charity golf tournament hosted by the Alumni. This year the tournament will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Heritage Pointe Golf Course. 100% of the proceeds from the tournament will directly support Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families.
"As an Alumni group there are a lot of us that call Calgary home. We enjoy being able to give back to the community while bringing our group back together. The Alumni golf tournament gives us the opportunity to rekindle our relationships while raising funds for worthwhile causes," states Dana Murzyn, Tournament Chair. "The Flames Alumni are proud members of the community and we are pleased to host this tournament and honoured to be able to give back to a community that we are so passionate about."

The Masters Tournament was originally founded in 1995 by Eddie Wong and former Flames Captain Jim Peplinski. Since then, the tournament has gone on to support a number of different Calgary-based organizations and has raised over $2.6 million for local charities. This year's tournament and reception will feature a number of Calgary Flames Alumni and will raise funds and awareness for Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families.
Cerebral Palsy Kids and Families provide family-focused support, resources, programs and opportunities to Calgary area individuals and families affected by Cerebral Palsy and similar disabilities. In response to the largest community needs, they have developed successful flagship programs including their Family Support Program, Adapted Bike Program, and Medical Equipment/Technology Support. In 2018, with the help of the Calgary Flames Alumni Masters Golf Tournament, over 200 kids living with Cerebral Palsy and other physical disabilities will experience the simple joy of riding a bike. With their support, over the last six years, 966 bikes have been given to kids with physical challenges. The Adapted Bike program is the only one of its kind in North America and CP Kids & Families is seen as a leader in the community offering special bikes for special kids.
