Ducks Sign First Round Pick Drysdale to Three-Year Entry-Level Contract

The defenseman was selected sixth overall by Anaheim in the 2020 NHL Draft

The Ducks announced today they have signed defenseman Jamie Drysdale to a three-year entry-level contract.

Drysdale, 18 (4/8/02), was named an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) First Team All-Star in 2019-20 after scoring 9-38=47 points with a +9 rating and 24 penalty minutes (PIM) in 49 games with the Erie Otters. The 5-11, 175-pound defensemen ranked 10th among OHL defensemen in points-per game (.96) while leading Erie blueliners in goals, assists, scoring, power-play assists (19) and power-play goals (3).

The Ducks have signed right wing Jacob Perreault to a three-year entry-level contract.

Perreault, 18 (4/15/02), led the Sarnia Sting of the OHL in goals (39) and power-play goals (15), and ranked second among team leaders with 39-31=70 points in 57 games in 2019-20. The 5-11, 192-pound forward also ranked tied for fifth in PPG and tied for 10th in goals among OHL leaders.

The Ducks have signed left wing Maxim Golod to a three-year entry-level contract.

Golod, 20 (8/18/00), led the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in scoring (25-53=78), assists, power-play points (26) and shots (252) in 63 games last season. He also co-led Erie in power-play assists (19), ranked second in goals and third in power-play goals (7) in 2019-20.

The Ducks have agreed to terms with defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk on a three-year contract through the 2022-23 NHL season.

Shattenkirk, 31 (1/29/1989), won a Stanley Cup championship with Tampa Bay last season, scoring 3-10=13 points with a +8 rating in 25 playoff games, ranking seventh in scoring and assists, and tied for seventh in goals among all defensemen. In the last 20 years (2000-2020), Shattenkirk is one of five defensemen to score an overtime game-winning goal in the Stanley Cup Final, including Ruslan Salei (2003), Brent Seabrook (2013), Alec Martinez (2014) and Carl Gunnarsson (2019).

The Ducks have signed center Derek Grant to a three-year contract through the 2022-23 NHL season.

Grant, 30 (4/20/90), has earned 31-39=70 points and 85 penalty minutes (PIM) in 264 career NHL games with Anaheim, Ottawa, Calgary, Buffalo, Nashville, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. The 6-3, 206-pound center combined for 15-10=25 points in 56 games with Anaheim and Philadelphia in 2019-20, setting career highs in points and goals.

Ducks Acquire Fifth-Round Selection from Ottawa for Gudbranson

The Ducks have acquired a 2021 fifth-round draft pick from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman Erik Gudbranson.

"We want to thank Erik," said Ducks Executive Vice President & General Manager Bob Murray. "He did a good job for us. He's a character player and will do well in Ottawa. For us, this was about having additional financial flexibility going forward. We will continue to aggressively look at ways to improve our team, both in the short and long term."

Gudbranson, 28 (1/7/92), has played in 518 career games with the Ducks, Florida Panthers, Vancouver Canucks and Pittsburgh Penguins, earning 20-53=73 points and 581 penalty minutes (PIM). Acquired from the Penguins in exchange for Andreas Martinsen and a seventh-round selection in the 2021 NHL Draft, Oct. 25, 2019, Gudbranson had 4-5=9 points and 91 PIM in 44 games with Anaheim in 2019-20. The 6-5, 217-pound defenseman began last season with Pittsburgh, going scoreless in seven games.

The Ducks have signed defenseman Jacob Larsson to a two-year contract extension through the 2021-22 NHL season.

Larsson, 23 (4/29/97), has recorded 2-14=16 points with 30 penalty minutes (PIM) in 113 career NHL games with the Ducks. The 6-2, 190-pound defenseman appeared in 60 games with Anaheim in 2019-20, earning 2-9=11 points with 12 PIM. He established career highs in points, goals, assists and games, while he scored his first career NHL goal (Alex Stalock), Nov. 5 vs. Minnesota.

The Ducks have signed left wing Sonny Milano to a two-year contract extension through the 2021-22 NHL season.

Milano, 24 (5/12/96), has collected 22-25=47 points and 36 penalty minutes (PIM) in 125 career NHL games with the Ducks and Columbus Blue Jackets. The 6-0, 194-pound winger has also played 163 career American Hockey League (AHL) games in Cleveland (2016-19), Lake Erie (2015-16) and Springfield (2014-15), recording 45-67=112 points and 72 PIM. With Lake Erie, he won a Calder Cup championship in 2016.

Terry, 22 (9/10/97), has earned 8-20=28 points with a +3 rating in 81 career NHL games with the Ducks. Since the start of the 2018-19 NHL season, Terry leads Anaheim players aged 22-or-younger in goals, assists and points. The 6-0, 180-pound winger has also appeared in 55 career American Hockey League (AHL) games with San Diego, posting 23-34=57 points with a +15 rating.
