Carey - Panel - Tampa

TAMPA - It was a quiet night for Carey Price at the 2018 NHL All-Star Skills Competition at Amalie Arena on Saturday.

The annual gathering featured a brand new format that utilized goaltenders in just one event, but only five netminders were put to the test. Price, however, wasn't among them.

Vegas Golden Knights starter Marc-Andre Fleury won the Save Streak event, putting on quite a show to the song "Let It Go" from the Disney animated film Frozen.
Unlike last year, when Price's wife Angela and daughter Liv accompanied him to the rink in Los Angeles, this time around the pair remained at their hotel.
Price used his downtime on Saturday night to sign plenty of autographs.

He also made a young New York Islanders fan's day by playing the role of messenger.

Meanwhile, in Shea Weber's absence, Alex Ovechkin claimed the Hardest Shot Competition. He was the lone player to register a shot that cracked the 100 mph mark.
Price will be in action for the Atlantic Division on Sunday afternoon in the 2018 NHL All-Star Game, which will be played using a 3-on-3 format.
