MONTREAL -- The Canadiens were dealt a 7-2 loss by the Sabres on Tuesday night at the Bell Centre.
Things didn't start on a high note for Martin St-Louis' squad. Montreal was down 3-0 by the time the game was just 2:13 old on goals by Rasmus Dahlin, JJ Peterka and Alex Tuch. Cole Caufield responded for the Canadiens with his 12th goal of the season, blasting a slap shot past goaltender Craig Anderson. Kaiden Guhle and David Savard picked up the assists.

But Sean Monahan answered back 2:36 later with a wonderful solo effort for his fourth goal of the season. The assists came courtesy of Evgenii Dadonov and Chris Wideman.
