LAS VEGAS - Patrice Bergeron is no stranger to Las Vegas.
The Bruins' captain has been nominated for the Selke Trophy for 10 consecutive seasons with seven of those NHL Awards ceremonies - and all four of his record-tying victories - taking place in Sin City.
As such, the desert has become a special place for Bergeron and his family.
"It's kind of funny, it seems like I've had many trips here in Vegas with the awards and, obviously, now with the All-Star," said Bergeron. "It has been special that way. I was able to win a few [Selkes] with the help of the whole team and teammates. It's been a fun place to come, that's for sure."

Now, Bergeron is back on the strip, this time for his third career NHL All-Star Game appearance. And what makes this one even more special is the chance to have his entire family - wife Stephanie, and kids Zack, Victoria, and Noah - along with him to enjoy the festivities.
"It's always fun," said Bergeron. "This year I get to experience it with my family, my three kids, my wife are here. That's a fun experience on its own, able to get a little trip out of it, a family trip, which we don't get to do often…gonna try to have the kids in the locker room a little bit and bring them on the bench or close to the ice for the skills.
"Just experience the whole thing and hopefully have some memories for them down the road and maybe we'll reminisce when they're a little older. I know they're looking forward to it and so far, they've been having a blast here in Vegas."

Patrice Bergeron on the All-Star weekend festivities

At A Glance

Here's a look at the schedule for this weekend's festivities in Vegas:
Friday, Feb. 4
NHL All-Star Skills Competition (7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN)
Bergeron will take part in the Accuracy Shooting Competition, which will also feature Edmonton's Leon Draisaitl, Arizona's Clayton Keller, Buffalo's Rasmus Dahlin, Carolina's Sebastian Aho, Pittsburgh's Jake Guentzel, Anaheim's Troy Terry, Calgary's Johnny Gaudreau, and Vegas' Jonathan Marchessault.
At the 2015 NHL All-Star Skills Competition in Columbus, Bergeron also took part in the Accuracy Shooting Competition.
"The one thing I remember is you don't try to rush your shots," said Bergeron. "You have to make sure you make it count when you do shoot the puck. Sometimes you try to go so fast that you're kind of missing the target. But at the same time, it is kind of nerve-racking because you know you're timed, and you have to go fast as well to try to beat the other guys."
David Pastrnak won the event in 2019 in San Jose, knocking down all five targets in 11.309 seconds. Ray Bourque won it seven times while with the Bruins (1990, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000).
Saturday, Feb. 5
2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game (3 p.m. ET on ABC)
