THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…
STAT OF THE WEEK: Since his last regulation loss on November 26, Tuukka Rask has posted an 11-0-1 record with a 1.27 goals against average and .953 save percentage in 13 games played. Rask had previously gone 10 straight games without a regulation loss on four occasions in his career but recorded a new career high of 11 games on December 30 in Ottawa. The last Bruins goaltender to achieve a longer point streak was Chad Johnson, who went 14 games (11-0-3) without a regulation loss from January 16 to April 10, 2014. The longest such streak in both Bruins and NHL history is held by Gerry Cheevers, when he went 32 consecutive games (24-0-8) without a regulation loss in the 1971-1972 season.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:"When you have a group that is united the way we are, it normally carries over out on the ice. You see all the best teams, all the teams that win every year, they're so close off the ice and it just translates into your game. That's kind of the way it is in this room right now. It's a lot of fun to see and be a part of and it's just enjoyable to come to the rink every day." -Brad Marchand
