The Bruins signed forward prospect Jesse Gabrielle to a three-year entry-level contract on Sunday.
Gabrielle, 19, is in his second season with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League and has compiled 19 goals (leads the team) and 11 assists for 30 points (tied for first on the team) with 32 penalty minutes and a plus-nine rating in 25 games.
"He's very energetic, he's got a good shot," said Julien. "Right now, he reminds me a little bit of Brad Marchand in his early years, a little bit reckless at times. Maybe not controlling his emotions. From last year or two years ago to this year, I thought he progressed there. So hopefully he's on that line of progression.
"But he's got a lot of upside. He's got some speed, he's got some skill, he's got a great shot. And he's not afraid to get involved. For him, it's more about cleaning up the little parts of his game that's going to help him become a good pro."
The Moosomin, Saskatchewan, native was selected by the Bruins in the fourth round (105th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.
