In addition to the social component, the Bruins and TD Bank will be hosting events throughout the day to show their appreciation for Bruins fans. The Bruins and TD Bank will be hosting a street hockey clinic for students at the Oliver Hazard Perry School in South Boston from 10:20 a.m. - 11:20 a.m. led by the Bruins youth hockey development team. The Perry school will be gifted a full set of Bruins street hockey equipment as a "thank you" for their support.
The Bruins and TD Bank have joined with the MSPCA and Athletes for Animals, a non-profit foundation led by Kelly and David Backes that promotes rescuing and protecting the welfare of homeless pets nationwide, to host a "Yappy Hour" at TD Bank in South Boston (306 W Broadway, Boston, MA 02127) from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The MSPCA will be bringing adoptable animals to the event, and fans are invited to bring their own pets to the event as well. The first 100 fans to arrive will receive a special Bruins dog collar. The event will also include a dog sketch artist, an appearance by Bruins mascot Blades, and treats for pets. TD Bank and the Boston Bruins Foundation will also be presenting Athletes for Animals a donation for $10,000.
The Boston Bruins Foundation will also take part in TD Fansgiving by teaming up with TD Bank to make a $10,000 donation to the American Cancer Society in honor of late Bruins fan, Tim Ervin of Chelmsford, MA. Ervin, a life-long Bruins fan, recently passed away after a battle with gastric cancer.
