Ryan O'Reilly played in his 900th NHL game Saturday when the St. Louis Blues hosted the Winnipeg Jets at Enterprise Center in their final game before an extended NHL All-Star break.
O'Reilly was playing in his 249th game as a member of the Blues.

"The milestones are something you don't really think about," O'Reilly said. "I feel like I have a lot more I want to do and many years ahead of me. I still feel young, still feel like I have a lot to learn. I remember (my) first game, the steps you go through trying to make a team, establish yourself and take another step and then another step. It never stops. You never stop trying to improve and get better. I think I've been fortunate to be healthy for the most part, and there's a lot more I want to do. Just want to keep going."
Since arriving in St. Louis in the summer of 2018, O'Reilly has produced at nearly a point-per-game pace, registering 221 points (74 goals, 147 assists) in 248 games.
The 30-year-old has 643 points in his NHL career, which included stints in Colorado and Buffalo before St. Louis.
"Every single day he's our hardest worker out there," added David Perron. "He's our leader, he's the guy who sets the tempo in games and practice for how we need to compete, how we need to play. He has respect for everyone - whether you're an old guy or new guy - the same way he does if you meet him in public. He's a great guy, he deserves everything that he gets. We're happy he's getting to 900 (games). He's getting it pretty young, too. I think he's got many, many more games in the League."
Despite hitting the milestone, O'Reilly agrees that he has plenty more to accomplish.
"Since first getting here, I was so impressed with the team and to be brought into this culture, be a part of it and see how it's developed," O'Reilly said. "To witness it and help contribute to it is so cool, it's really helped my career in so many ways. It's something you want to keep growing with, keep helping this team do more and achieve more. We're in a position to do something special. It's not going to be easy, but the way we're built, there are so many good pieces."
