ST. LOUIS - The Finnish Ice Hockey Association announced that St. Louis Blues forward Kasperi Kapanen has been named to Team Finland's roster for the 2023 IIHF World Championship.

The tournament is set to begin on May 12 with games being held in Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia.

Kapanen, 26, has represented Finland multiple times in his career, including the 2016 World Junior Championships where he scored the gold medal-winning goal.

The 6-foot-1, 194-pound forward was claimed off waivers by the Blues on Feb. 25 and posted 14 points (eight goals, six assists) in 23 games with the team. Overall, the Kuopio, Finland, native has posted 186 points (78 goals, 108 assists) in 387 career NHL regular-season games.
