The Blackhawks snapped an eight-game losing streak after scoring four goals to beat the Flames. With the added victory, Chicago officially swept Calgary and secured a 3-0-0 record against them this season.
Head coach Luke Richardson felt that the team skated well and pushed hard on the forecheck during the first and third period. After losing some speed in the second, the team regrouped and defended the net well to take the game back in the third.
"I thought our guys reacted well on the third one got back on the horse and put pucks behind them and got those two goals and then that makes them push…," Richardson said. "Other than that, we defended in front of our net really well in the third."

Andreas Athansiou helped jump start the Blackhawks' scoring efforts in the matchup posting two goals in the team's win. By the end of the night, he produced six points (4G, 2A) in his last five games.
With the added success over his last few games, the 28-year-old forward felt he hasn't changed anything in his game to create his recent offensive success.
"I don't think I've changed really anything, to be honest," Athanasiou said. "Just kind of go out there and work and whenever you get the chances kind of just bear down. I'm fortunate enough they've been going in right now. So, I don't really change much to be honest."

Fellow linemate Lukas Reichel also showed up on the scoring sheet in the 4-3 victory. Following the matchup, the 20 year old produced six points (3G, 3A) in his last six games.
With the added goals from Athanasiou, the young forward felt the new line of him, Athanasiou and Jonathan Toews started to click together to help their production in tonight's contest.
"I think just like good skating and good two passes by [Toews]," Reichel said. "I think everyone had a touch and just like everyone had good support. That's why we scored, but it was good by all of us."

Despite Calgary being a strong and heavy hitting team, Richardson noted that the reason why they have been successful against the Flames due to Athanasiou's tracking and defensive efforts along with his offensive production. With defensive pressure, it caused their opponents to become frustrated.
"I thought [Athanasiou] was excellent tonight," Richardson said. "Not just offensively but tracking back and making good plays in the D-zone. So that was frustrating on their team, I'm sure."
