RECAP: Metropolitan 10, Central 5

SAN JOSE, CA -Patrick Kane's 2019 All-Star Weekend came to an end with a 10-5 loss to the Metropolitan Division in the championship game. The Metropolitan team was awarded the $1 million prize.
The Central Division dominated the scoresheet from the start in their first game against the Pacific Division, but found the opposite happened in this one. It all started when Mathew Barzal put the Metropolitan Division up 1-0 with a top-shelf snipe just 22 seconds into the game.
Claude Giroux buried his own breakaway rebound to make it 2-0 at 1:53.
The Metro's run continued when Kris Letang scored to lift his squad to a 3-0 lead at 3:40.

Kyle Palmieri made it 4-0 at 8:16 of the first, and then Sidney Crosby scored almost at the buzzer to give the Metropolitan a 5-0 lead heading into the second period.
The Central squad finally got on the board, courtesy of Gabriel Landeskog at 1:15 of the final frame, making it a 5-1 score.
Mikko Rantanen snapped a shot on net from out in front, burying the Roman Josi feed at 3:25.
Crosby's second of the game, a redirection from in front, made it 6-2 at 4:02.

Ryan O'Reilly then cut the Metropolitan lead to 6-3 with his first of the game at 4:38.
The back-and-forth scoring continued when Sebastian Aho got on the board for the Metropolitan at 5:35. The Metro increased their lead to 8-3 at 5:43 of the second with a goal from Cam Atikinson.
Barzal found twine for his second of the game at 7:16, making it a 9-3 lead for the Metropolitan team.
Rantanen roofed a shot at 8:30 to cut the lead to 9-4 and then Blake Wheeler made it 19-5 shortly after. With time running out, the Central pulled their goalie and that's when Atkinson scored to make it 10-5.
Kane finished the game with one assist and five shots on goal.
