RECAP: Blackhawks Fall to Blues, 4-0

A three-goal second period was the difference on Sunday afternoon as the Blackhawks fell to the St. Louis Blues in the final meeting of the season, 4-0.

2nd - 2:26 - Jordan Kyrou (Brayden Schenn, Ivan Barbashev)

After a stellar start to the second period from Marc-Andre Fleury with a pair of big stops on a Blues power play, the visitors got one by on a 2-on-0 in tight. Off what started as a 2-on-1 rush, Jordan Kyrou saucered a pass over a diving Caleb Jones to Brayden Schenn at the far side of the slot. Schenn quickly sent it back to Kyrou, who had leaped over the defenseman on the ice, at the near side of the goal as Fleury was still diving the other direction. The centerman's tap-in made it a 1-0 game.

2nd - 6:56 - Pavel Buchnevich (Robert Thomas)

St. Louis doubled the lead a short time later off an offensive-zone draw. Chicago won the faceoff back behind its own goal, but Robert Thomas quickly pried the puck loose off a forecheck and immediately found Pavel Buchnevich in the slot unmarked. The winger tucked an in-tight shot just over the glove of Marc-Andre Fleury for a 2-0 score.

2nd - 18:08 - David Perron (Brayden Schenn, Justin Faulk) -- PP

The Blues added a third middle-from goal on a late man advantage in the second as David Perron found his 10th goal of the season. After a stretch of moving the puck around the zone, Brayden Schenn threaded a cross-ice feed from one dot to the other through the slot, where Perron put a wrister high, rising over the blocker of a diving Marc-Andre Fleury getting across to make it 3-0.

3rd - 3:04 - David Perron

St. Louis scored again off an offensive-zone draw early in the third as David Perron swatted a loose puck from the bottom of the circle towards the net. The puck squeaked just over the shoulder of Marc-Andre Fleury and tickled over the goal line for Perron's second of the game and a 4-0 lead.
