The 2023 IIHF World Junior Championships kicked off on Monday as five Blackhawks prospects made their tournament debuts with Team Sweden and Team Canada.

F Victor Stjernborg, Sweden
The team captain assisted on his first point of the tournament in Sweden's 11-0 victory over Austria. He finished the contest with a plus-two rating and one shot on goal through 12:37 minutes of ice time.

D Nolan Allan, Canada
The 2021 draft pick recorded three shots on goal in his first game for Team Canada. He also posted almost 18 minutes of ice time.
F Colton Dach, Canada
The young forward took one shot in his first appearance on the tournament. He finished the night with eight minutes of ice time.
D Ethan Del Mastro, Canada
In his second year representing Team Canada, the defenseman posted a minus-two rating and 19 minutes of ice time.
D Kevin Korchinski, Canada
The 2022 draft pick tallied his first point with an assist in Canada's 5-2 loss to Czechia. He ended the night with 11:58 minutes played.

Team Sweden will play their second match against Germany on Tuesday. Team Canada will have an off day will play in their next game on Wednesday against Germany.
