The Chicago Blackhawks had three prospects among 44 players invited to Team USA for a chance to participate in the 2023 IIHF World Junior Summer Showcase.

Gavin Hayes (3rd Rd., 66th Ovr.), Frank Nazar (1st Rd., 13th Ovr.) and Sam Rinzel (1st Rd., 25th Ovr.) will take part in the evaluation camp in hopes of making the roster for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship in December.

Hayes spent his season with the Flint Firebirds of the OHL where he ranked second on the team in points and goals. Through 66 games played, he recorded a total of 41 goals and 40 assists in his second season.

As for Nazar, he missed the majority of the season with the University of Michigan due to an injury. Following his return, the forward produced 2 goals and five assists in his freshman year and helped the team advance to the Frozen Four.

Rinzel played his first full season with the USHL's Waterloo Black Hawks where he scored nine goals and 27 assists through 58 games. In the fall, the defenseman will play for the University of Minnesota in his freshman year.

The tournament is set to take place July 27- Aug. 4 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.
