VS. TAMPA BAY

Tampa Bay defeated Chicago 6-3 at the United Center on March 6. Alex DeBrincat, Dylan Strome and Patrick Kane all scored and had an assist that evening. DeBrincat paced the Blackhawks with five goals and eight points against the Lightning last season and has a point (2G, 3A) in four consecutive games. Kane has back-to-back multi-point efforts against the Lightning. Taylor Raddysh scored a goal against his current team on March 6 and finished the game as a +2 in 9:26 of total ice time.

BEHIND ENEMY LINES

Tonight's matchup is the first time Raddysh and Boris Katchouk, as well as Lightning forward Brandon Hagel, will face their former teams since swapping teams as part of a deadline trade on March 18.
Tyler Johnson is set to play his former team for the second time since winning back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021. He played all 82 games for the Lightning in 2013-14, setting a team rookie record with 24 goals and being named a finalist for the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie. He also made his first appearance in the NHL All-Star Game that year.

CHICAGO'S CAPTAIN

Jonathan Toews became the 366th player in NHL history and the eighth Blackhawk to skate in 1,000 career games last night. Drafted third overall by Chicago in the 2006 NHL Draft, Toews is a three-time Stanley Cup champion (2010, 2013, 2015), 2010 Conn Smythe recipient, winner of the Selke Trophy in 2013 and was named one of the 100 Greatest NHL Players as part of the league's centennial celebration in 2017. The Winnipeg native scored a goal in his NHL debut on Oct. 10, 2007.

SNAPPED STREAKS

In Thursday's shutout loss to the Panthers, several Blackhawks point streaks came to an end. Alex DeBrincat posted a five-game point streak (4G, 5A) from March 20-28 and had four consecutive multi-point efforts - the longest stretch of his career (previous best of three games from Feb. 2-7, 2021) - from March 23-28. Seth Jones also recorded a six-game point streak (2G, 4A) from March 19-28, his second longest streak of the year (8 games from Nov. 1-20). Dylan Strome's six-game point streak (3G, 6A) matched a career-long run that he recorded earlier this month (March 3-12, 7G, 4A).
Kane also saw his franchise record 11-game road assist streak (Jan. 26-March 26, 15A) snapped last night. Only two players in NHL history have posted a longer such stretch: Gretzky (16 GP in 1984-85 w/ EDM; 14 GP in 1986-87 &1985-86 w/ EDM; 12 GP in 1990-91 w/ LAK) and Leetch (12 GP in 1996-97 w/ NYR).
