Last Game

The Blackhawks earned their first win of the season on Saturday night against San Jose, their first road win against the club since 2019. Sam Lafferty scored two short-handed goals and added an assist. Newcomer Jason Dickinson also registered a three-point night (1G, 2A) in his Blackhawks debut while Taylor Raddysh (1G, 1A) and Tyler Johnson (2A) posted multi-point efforts. Petr Mrazek stopped 24-of-26 shots, earning his first Blackhawks win.

Vs. Detroit

The Blackhawks have gone 11-4-0 in their last 15 matchups against Detroit. Jonathan Toews has recorded nine points (1G, 8A) in his last seven games against the Red Wings, dating back to Jan. 25, 2018. Mrazek has won his last three games against Detroit while playing for Toronto.

LONG STORY SHORTHANDED

Lafferty (2G, 1A) became the seventh Blackhawks player since 1933-34 (when goals by type officially began being tracked) to score two short- handed goals in a single period. Other players who have accomplished the feat: Rene Bourque (Feb. 28, 2008), Patrick Sharp (Nov. 3, 2007), Steve Sullivan (Jan. 26, 2001), Rick Paterson (Jan. 16, 1985), Chico Maki (Dec. 9, 1970) and Pep Kelly (Dec. 26, 1940).

Start with a Bang

Dickinson recorded three points (1G, 2A) in Saturday's game against San Jose, playing in his Blackhawks debut. Only one other Blackhawk has ever registered more points in their club debut - Martin Havlat (2G, 2A on Oct. 5, 2006).

Time is on His Side

Defenseman Seth Jones logged 24:03 of ice time on Saturday, marking the third-straight game he's led all skaters in TOI. Jones currently ranks seventh among all NHL skaters in ice time with 25:24. Last season, Jones paced the NHL with a career-high 26:13 of time on ice per game, also establishing a new career best.
