USA Hockey announced today that Blackhawks' prospect goaltender Drew Commesso has been named to this year's roster for the IIHF World Championship.

The Blackhawks signed the 20-year-old netminder to a three-year entry-level contract back on April 11 after being eliminated in the Frozen Four with Boston University (Hockey East). He served as an alternate captain for the Terriers and appeared in 34 games during the 2022-23 season with a 24-8-0 record, 2.46 goals-against average and two shutouts.

Commesso represented Team USA at the 2022 Winter Olympics and became the youngest goaltender to start for the U.S. Men's Olympic Team. He posted a 2-0-0 record, 1.00 goals-against average and a .964 save percentage.

Bjork will make his second appearance in the tournament for the first time since 2017. The Blackhawks acquired the forward on March 2 from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for future considerations. He produced two goals and six assists through 13 games with Chicago this season.

The tournament is slated to start on May 12 to May 28 in Tampere, Finland and Riga, Latvia.
