The eighth-overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft is here to stay for at least the immediate future. Adam Boqvist's play through camp and two preseason games has the Blackhawks wanting to see more.
"I think he's going to be alright for a while here," Head Coach Joel Quenneville said after the game. "When I say 'a while' I mean we'll see how he does next week. But he's not going back (to juniors) tomorrow."
"I think as we've gone through camp and we see him play through the games, we're watching him. We've been pleased with him. It's almost like, when you come to camp, we want to watch these guys. They make those decisions for us with how they play and it's been a positive one."
Quenneville wouldn't rule out that Boqvist could even make the roster when the team breaks camp for the regular season.
"I'm not throwing that out of the realm of possibilities."
