IA-3-8

Led by the top line of Patrick Kane, Dylan Strome and Alex DeBrincat, the Blackhawks offense was on full display on Tuesday night, taking an 8-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks at the United Center.
Kane set a career mark with six points and Strome notched his second career hat trick as both he and DeBrincat posted four points each in the win.
"They've been clicking right now," interim head coach Derek King said of the trio, who each have four-game point streaks running.

"It felt like the first couple shifts it was like, we just had the puck the whole time," Strome said. "We were good at holding onto it. We get one on the first shift and come back to the bench, and Kaner goes, 'We're not stopping there.'"
"I feel like we're just playing with confidence," Strome added. "Alex and Patrick and I are good friends off the ice and it translates to on the ice. We love playing together."

The Blackhawks rushed out to a 5-0 lead in the first period that was made 6-0 by Brandon Hagel just 19 seconds into the second, but Anaheim didn't roll over and accept defeat. Jakob Silfverberg, Trevor Zegras and Adam Henrique all scored within a span of 3:26 to pull the game to 6-3. But Strome made it 7-4 before the end of the middle frame to put things a little more at ease.
"it was just more or less, we got away from playing the right way," King explained. "Right away, we throw a lateral play inside their blue line, turnover, and that was momentum. And then we take a penalty, they score, and it was just like 'OK guys, calm down, calm down.' We fought through it, got through the second, coming out of the third we knew we had to bring it back and clean it up and I thought they did a great job. We really had a good third period."

Patrick Kane had seemingly done it all over the first 1,082 regular-season games of his career. But scoring six points in a single game, as he did in Tuesday's win over Anaheim, was a new one.
With a goal and five primary assists, Kane was the undisputed catalyst to Chicago's eight-goal night.
"I knew I had five in one game, but with like three minutes left in the third, you don't think you're getting another one," said Kane, who hit six with just under three minutes to play. "Nice to get that one. I was texting Nick Schmaltz
Not to be overlooked on the night was Dylan Strome's second career -- and second of the season -- hat trick, set up thrice by Kane. He logged a three-goal night in another eight-goal Blackhawks outing on Jan. 26 in Detroit, with Kane assisting on two of the three that night as well.
It's one thing to have an elite setup man dishing you the puck on a consistent basis, but Strome has been finishing with consistency, totaling six goals in his last three games.
"It was cool," Strome said of the hat trick. "I got some great passes, started out pretty good and playing with some good players. Whenever you're on the ice with those guys, you got to be read. Got to be ready for the puck at all times and sometimes it finds you, other games it doesn't, but it felt good tonight."
"He's just playing with confidence," King said. "He's working when he doesn't have the puck and that's the stuff we worked on at the start of the year when I had him on the bottom six, make sure he's working without the puck and playing the right way and he has been. And moving him with Kaner has helped him a lot. He starts getting a little points, gets some confidence and now they're a pretty solid line for us right now."
