1. Bonus point in bonus hockey.
Overtime has been unkind to the Wild in recent years, but Minnesota improved to 3-0 in the extra session this year, taking just 18 seconds to finish off the Avalanche in 3-on-3 hockey.
Jordan Greenway, who has been absolutely fantastic so far this season, set up the winner, weaving around a defenseman and whipping a perfect pass to Brodin in the slot, where he one-timed a shot past goaltender Hunter Miska for the winner.
The point was the second of the night for Greenway, who also scored Minnesota's first goal of the game.
Victor Rask had a pair of goals for the Wild and Joel Eriksson Ek finished with two assists.
2. Get out your programs.
The Wild made a number of roster moves on Sunday in preparation for its rematch with the Colorado Avalanche.
Still out was forward Kevin Fiala, serving the second of a three-game suspension. Newly missing were defenseman Matt Dumba, who was hurt in the game on Saturday and placed on injured reserve, and forwards Marcus Johansson and Marcus Foligno.
Johansson was also hurt on Saturday and is considered day-to-day. Foligno was placed on the COVID-19 protocol and is out for at least the next few days.
In were a trio of forwards promoted from the taxi squad, including Luke Johnson, Gerry Mayhew and Kyle Rau, who each made their season debuts.
Brad Hunt, who has had limited ice time as a seventh defenseman, saw an increased role with Dumba out of the lineup, and seems likely to see a steady diet of power play time until Dumba returns.
How the Wild pieces together its forward group will depend on how long it is without Johansson and Foligno.
To replace those three on the taxi squad, the Wild recalled Will Bitten and Mason Shaw from Iowa. Goaltender Andrew Hammond, who had been Kaapo Kahkonen's backup while Cam Talbot was out with injury, was reassigned to the taxi squad as well.
Additionally, Mats Zuccarello was placed on long-term injured reserve as he continues to rehab from arm surgery he had during the offseason.
3. Wild gets a goalie back.
Lost in the shuffle of all the subtractions from Minnesota's regular lineup was one major return: veteran goaltender Cam Talbot.
