On Thursday, May 24, the San Jose Sharks announced that Evander Kane was re-signed to a 7-year contract. The forward was slated to be an unrestricted free agent on July 1, but after coming over to San Jose at the trade deadline, Kane decided that the Sharks were the team for him for the foreseeable future.
