Prospect Spotlight: Jake Jackson

A couple weeks ago, the spotlight was on Michigan Tech defenseman Clifford Watson. But Watson isn't the only Michigan Tech player in the Sharks organization. Center Jake Jackson is also a member of the Huskies.
Currently in his sophomore season with Michigan Tech, Jackson has established himself as a regular to the lineup and a solid contributor.
In his 24 games played, he has 5 goals on the season, tied for fifth-most on the team, and has registered a +3 rating.

The Sharks drafted Jackson in the 7th round (201) of the 2013 NHL Draft. Since then, he's played in the USHL and the BCHL before signing on to play at Michigan Tech.
The 5'11", 190-pound forward delayed entry into college for a year to get that year in the BCHL. It was there his offensive game started to develop. He put up 54 points in 52 games that season.
"Jackson is an athletic forward who has slowly developed his overall game to match his physical tools. He is a strong skater and can shift to top speeds very quickly. He has higher than average hockey intelligence and plays a sound positional game." -
Hockey's Future
With more seasoning in the NCAA, Jackson's role on the Huskies and his personal development should hopefully continue to evolve.
Perhaps in the future, the two Huskies will find themselves as teammates again with the Barracuda or Sharks.
