The San Jose Sharks celebrated Hockey Is For Everyone Night at SAP Center on March 2, 2017, against the Vancouver Canucks. Hockey Is For Everyone is a National Hockey League campaign that is supported and celebrated by all 30 clubs across the league to drive positive social change and foster more inclusive communities.
Hockey Is For Everyone Night at the Tank included a ceremonial puck drop by a member of the San Francisco Earthquakes- the Bay Area's only LGBTQ hockey team, autographed Mystery Hats sold to benefit UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, and a 50/50 raffle benefitting the LGBTQ Youth Space of San Jose.

What was most eye-catching however was the pride-themed hockey tape that players from the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks wrapped their sticks in for warmups. These sticks were auctioned off during the game with proceeds benefitting You Can Play.
