OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators (@Senators) defenceman Cody Ceci was today awarded a one-year, $4.3 million contract following an arbitration process.

Ceci, 24, was one of only two Senators to play in each of the team's 82 games last season, scoring five goals and adding 14 assists for 19 points. He set career highs in shots (143), hits (163), blocked shots (171), time-on-ice average (23:20 minutes per game) and shorthanded time-on-ice average (2:46 per game).

An Ottawa native, Ceci has registered 92 points (25 goals, 67 assists) and 70 penalty minutes over 366 NHL games, all of which have occurred with the Senators. He has also earned three points (three assists) over 25 NHL post-season contests.

The Senators' first-round pick (15th overall) in the 2012 NHL Draft, Ceci represented his country internationally in 2016, winning a gold medal with Team Canada at the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Moscow/St. Petersburg, Russia.
