OTTAWA - Ottawa Senators (@Senators) general manager Pierre Dorion announced today the promotion of Trent Mann to the role of chief amateur scout.
A native of Sackville, N.B., Mann has been part of the amateur scouting staff with the Senators since he joined the team in a part-time capacity in 2010. He was promoted to full time amateur scout in August of 2014. As Ottawa's chief amateur scout, Mann will now provide direction to the entire amateur scouting staff as they take on their yearly scouting duties in preparation for the annual National Hockey League Draft.
"We're in good hands with Trent," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "I've known him for almost 25 years and he is smart person, tireless worker and great evaluator of talent. He shares our organizational philosophy on drafting and developing and will be able to manage our amateur staff well. I am confident that with Trent as our lead, the organization will continue to deliver the type of players and people that we can develop into quality National Hockey League players."
