Nilsson leading the way with a few early favourites for Save of the Month

Since joining the Sens on January 2nd, Anders Nilsson has had an immediate impact and leads the way with some early contenders for our Hydro Ottawa Save of the Month for January.

We've already got a few great options to kick off 2019 so here's a look at some of the very best #ottsaves through the first half of January...

Hydro Ottawa's Save of the Month

A major hub for Ottawa's figure skating and hockey community, The Minto Skating Centre, has also made some great saves!
Hydro Ottawa has nominated The Minto Skating Centre for January's "Save of the Month" for its great play in reducing energy and making figure skating and hockey more accessible to all.
With help from Hydro Ottawa and the
Save on Energy RETROFIT program
, the skating centre installed LED lighting throughout the facility. By changing over 1,000 lights to LED, they were able to improve the light quality, especially on the ice surface, and save over 300,000 kWh per year - that's the equivalent of taking approximately 30 homes completely off the grid!
In line with their focus on community, youth and special needs, The Minto Skating Centre has been able to reinvest the savings back into the community by subsidizing ice-rental rates.
