Before the puck drops for tonight's game, here are 5 things to help get you ready to watch the Sens host the Devils at Canadian Tire Centre at 7:30 p.m.

1. Karlsson's return

The Sens captain made his return to the line-up on Tuesday against the Canucks and although Vancouver left with the decision, Karlsson was pleased with his first game back.
"I was a little rusty but overall it felt ok," said Erik Karlsson following Tuesday's game. "I think we played a good game for me to come back and get into the groove of things. I still need to fine tune a few things but that just takes time."
Karlsson had a team-high 22:25 TOI in his return including 4 minutes of ice time on the power play.
"He played fine and certainly wasn't the reason why we lost the game," head coach Boucher said of his captain's first game back. "He came in and looked like Erik Karlsson."

2. Left is right for Pageau

Not sure if you noticed on Saturday night but a few face-offs looked a bit odd for Jean-Gabriel Pageau. After starting the game uncharacteristically slow in the dot against the Oilers, the Sens right shooting centre decided to try something different and started taking draws on his left.
"I've tried it a few times at practice but it was the first time I tried it in a real game," said Pageau about the experiment. "Nothing was really working out for me so I figured I might as well try something different."
To his surprise, the change actually yielded instant results.
"It actually worked the first time so I tried it a couple more times and I ended up winning 2 out of 3," Pageau recounted with a smile. "I haven't tried it again since but I guess when you have a bad day in the circle you want to try to change something up and that's what I did."
When asked if he was considering trading in his current stick for a left-handed one Pageau joked: "Probably not but I'd have a heck of a backhand if I did though."

3. Previous meeting

These teams last faced off on February 21st, 2017 in New Jersey where the Sens won a low-scoring affair 2-1. Kyle Turris notched his 20th goal of the season to open the scoring while Erik Karlsson's third period marker proved to be the game winner. Craig Anderson was brilliant in net for the Senators stopping 29 of the 30 shots sent his way to earn the victory.

4. From yesterday

Boucher met with the media yesterday and spoke about the team's preparations to host the Devils tonight. The Sens head coach wasn't pleased with the team's ability to sustain pressure on Tuesday against Vancouver and feels the source of the problem may have been their week long trip out west recently.
"I hate to say it but I have to be honest, you could feel the effect of the trip on us," said Boucher on Wednesday. "I know our guys and when I see them trying to push and the push is not there then you know something's up."
As a result, the team scrapped their plans for a skate yesterday and opted for an off-ice training session instead in hopes of recuperating from their venture through Western Canada last week.
