The Nashville Predators' final home game of 2018 features their first opponent of the 2018-19 season, the New York Rangers.
The Preds (22-14-2) were shut out on Thursday by the Dallas Stars for their fifth consecutive loss (0-4-1), their longest such streak in two years. Getting forward Viktor Arvidsson and blueliner P.K. Subban back in the lineup after nearly six weeks of missed time was not quite enough for Nashville to end their current skid. Prior to their last game, the Preds activated the aforementioned duo from Injured Reserve and placed defenseman Yannick Weber on IR to join Colton Sissons and Filip Forsberg.
Forsberg was on the ice during Saturday's optional morning skate, the first time he's skated with the team since suffering his injury earlier this month.
New York (15-14-7) fell to the Predators, 3-2, on Opening Night back in October. The Rangers have lost three in a row (0-1-2).
