Rats Roundup - Pantherfest, Olli comes home and more

Well folks, that was a whirlwind week.
Since the last installment of Rats Roundup, we've had two days worth of the #NHL100 Centennial Celebration, a Cats legend coming home to retire, a (very) fun season ticket holder event and two games.
Let's get all caught up here.

Olli Comes Home

The Panthers welcomed back the franchise's all-time leading scorer this week, as Olli Jokinen signed an honorary contract. The Finnish forward put up 419 points over seven seasons with the Panthers.
While he wasn't drafted by the Panthers, Sunrise was where his career took off. After averaging 23 points in his first two years as a Cat, he found his scoring touch, averaging 75 points per season in his last five years with the team.

For Jokinen, retiring as a Panther just felt right.
"My heart has always been with the Panthers organization," he told FloridaPanthers.com's Jameson Olive. "Now I feel like my career has come full circle."

PantherFest: It's Lit

Aaron Carter threw the party of the year back in 2000. And while it's still early, it's safe to say that the Florida Panthers may have thrown the best party of 2017.
Pantherfest had everything imaginable - a private viewing of an NHL practice, autographs, chances to meet players, great food and, well, this:

That's a face of pure bliss, friends. That's also the only appropriate reaction to meeting Panthers superstar center Aleksander Barkov. It's still unconfirmed if the two Barkovs actually had a bark-off, however.

That's right, Lord Stanley took a much-needed beach day in Fort Lauderdale.
The #NHL100 Centennial Celebration stopped by South Florida last weekend, and the festivities were nothing short of spectacular. Food trucks, zamboni simulators, photos with the Cup and much more - talk about a big weekend.
