Aleksander Barkov has a ton of skill, folks.
His overtime breakaway goal last night was a thing of beauty, giving the Cats a win in what could be their last trip to Joe Louis Arena. Barkov now has two overtime game-winners this season, plus two more goals in shootouts.

Speaking of last night, the 2-1 overtime victory marked GM/Interim Head Coach Tom Rowe's first win behind an NHL bench after he took over head coaching duties earlier this week.

DEMERS TALKS MASHED POTATOES

Last week's Matheson's Mailba
mentioned Thanksgiving at the Yandle household - and Matheson's Oreo ball dessert - but we're now getting more information on the dishes offered at the shindig.
Jason Demers - who got the Cats on the board with a wicked slap shot last night - was in charge of one of the mashed potatoes, and unfortunately, it did not go as planned.

"I ruined Thanksgiving. There was a ton of extra food, but for myself, I took that one to heart," said Demers in this week's blog post. "It still stings. Luckily, there's a lot of time left in the year to redeem myself.
"I'm going to start just dropping off mashed potatoes on people's doorsteps."
Go ahead and set up a Google News alert for mashed potatoes just in case, folks. In the meantime,
check out the latest edition of Demers' Diary!

PROSPECT NOTES

Henrik Borgström continued his torrid pace, with his season stat line sitting at 8-8-16 through his first 14 games at Denver University. That skill was recognized in a big way this week, as he earned Bauer NCHC Rookie of the Week honors.
Appreciate this visual art.

More on Borgström's hot streak, plus Adam Mascherin's OHL dominance and some notes out of Springfield in this week's
In The Pipeline
