Whether playing as a centreman or winger, newly-acquired forward Ryan Strome provides Oilers Head Coach Todd McLellan with options.
Strome touched down in Edmonton Friday to visit Oilers Hockey School and commented on how he brings versatility to the complexion of the Oilers top nine.
"One of the main things I talked about with Todd was the versatility," Strome said. "Last year, I remember watching during the playoffs the lines were switching up - guys playing centre, guys playing wing and I think it gets guys going.
"It gets you involved in the game and if you're feeling it, you get out there more."
With the ability to slot in a few different positions, the 24-year-old couldn't help but explore some of the possibilities.
"There's no lack of opportunity, that's for sure," said Strome. "There's definitely a lot of anticipation from my end and I'm really excited to get things going."
Last season, Strome compiled 13 goals and 30 points in 69 games.
